Thoughtful Consulting Grounded in Experience
We help organizations in Singapore strengthen their business foundations through careful examination and structured frameworks.
Return HomeOur Story
Cornerstone Group was established in 2018 by a small team of consultants who had worked together at larger firms in Singapore. We recognized a need for consulting services that emphasize practical frameworks over prescriptive solutions, and that work collaboratively with clients rather than maintaining distance.
Our founding principle was straightforward: many organizations have capable teams who benefit most from structured thinking and external perspective rather than comprehensive transformation plans. We wanted to create engagements that respect the knowledge already present within an organization while introducing frameworks and insights from broader business experience.
Over the years, we've worked with family businesses navigating succession planning, mid-sized companies examining their competitive position, and established organizations refining stakeholder communication approaches. Each engagement has reinforced our belief in methodical examination and collaborative processes.
We maintain our small size intentionally. This allows us to be selective about engagements and ensure each client receives thoughtful attention from experienced consultants. We're not pursuing rapid growth or building a large firm. Instead, we focus on doing good work with organizations that value our approach.
Our name reflects our philosophy. Just as a building's cornerstone provides alignment and stability for the structure above it, we aim to help organizations strengthen the fundamental elements that support their ongoing work. We don't claim to rebuild organizations from scratch, but we can help examine and reinforce the foundations that matter.

All deliverables undergo internal review before being shared with clients. We check for accuracy, clarity, and completeness in our documentation.
Data Protection
We follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act requirements and maintain secure systems for storing client information during and after engagements.
Clear Engagement Terms
We document scope, deliverables, and fees before beginning work. Clients know what to expect from our engagements and we honor our commitments.
Ongoing Development
Our consultants engage in professional development activities and stay current with business frameworks, research methods, and industry developments.
What Guides Our Work
Our consulting practice is built on several core beliefs about how to work effectively with organizations. First, we believe most businesses have more internal knowledge and capability than they give themselves credit for. Our role is often to help structure that knowledge and provide external perspective rather than to import wholesale solutions.
We value methodical approaches over rapid insights. Business questions typically benefit from systematic examination rather than quick judgments. This means our engagements involve research, analysis, and thoughtful synthesis rather than immediate recommendations.
We also believe in collaborative processes. The organizations we work with will continue long after our engagements conclude. When we work alongside client teams throughout an engagement, knowledge transfer happens naturally and recommendations are grounded in organizational reality.
Transparency matters to us. We explain our thinking, share our frameworks, and document our work clearly. Clients should understand how we arrived at our observations and be able to apply similar thinking to future questions.
Finally, we recognize the limits of consulting. We can provide frameworks, perspectives, and documentation, but we cannot make decisions for organizations or guarantee specific outcomes. The value we provide comes from structured thinking and external viewpoints, not from having all the answers.
